What to Know About Skydiving at Above the Poconos Skydivers

Yes. First-time jumpers begin with a tandem. First Jump School is required before progressing toward independent jumps.

Our tandem jumps are made from approximately 10,000 feet above the ground. You'll climb to altitude with your instructor before exiting the aircraft together.

Expect around 30 seconds of freefall, followed by a parachute ride of more than five minutes. These timings describe the jump itself, not your full visit at the drop zone.

Your instructor will introduce you to the parachute controls during the canopy ride and guide you through steering and landing practice. Follow your instructor's directions throughout the jump.

After landing, you'll return to celebrate with your family and friends. You'll receive a first-jump certificate and information about continuing your training toward a skydiving license.
