Skydiving for Scranton Locals
Scranton knows how to turn local traditions into major events. From the St. Patrick’s Parade and La Festa Italiana to RailRiders games at PNC Field, days at Montage Mountain, walks through Nay Aug Park, and afternoons exploring Steamtown, there is always something happening around the Electric City.
Skydiving is different.
This is stepping into an aircraft, climbing above the mountains and valleys of Northeastern Pennsylvania, and making the kind of memory people ask about as soon as they see the video.
Above the Poconos Skydivers is located in Hazle Township, PA, approximately 50 minutes from Scranton depending on traffic and where you begin. Guests visit us from Downtown Scranton, Green Ridge, the Hill Section, West Side, South Side, Minooka, Dunmore, Clarks Summit, Old Forge, Moosic, and communities throughout the Lackawanna Valley.

Why Scranton Jumpers Choose Above the Poconos
The oldest, continuously running USPA Member skydiving center in the world!
Above the Poconos Skydivers has been part of Pennsylvania skydiving since 1961. The drop zone serves first-time tandem students, experienced skydivers, and people who want to begin learning the sport.
Our services include tandem skydiving, solo skydiving, skydiving lessons, FAA parachute rigging services, and video options that let you relive your experience long after landing. Whether you are making your first jump or continuing your progression, our team is here to help you take the next step.
The drop zone was also home to the late Don Kellner, a Guinness World Record holder for the most skydives ever, who helped own and operate the center for much of its history. That legacy still matters here. Above the Poconos is a skydiving center shaped by decades of experience, high standards, and a genuine love for the sport.
For Scranton locals, that means a skydiving center with real Pennsylvania roots is less than an hour away. You can leave the Electric City in the morning, make your jump in Hazle Township, and return home with a story that makes your normal weekend plans seem a little less exciting.
