Many of our customers plan an adventure getaway that involves both skydiving and either hiking, mountain biking, golfing, paintball, whitewater rafting or skiing. There are some absolutely beautiful state parks a short drive from the skydiving center, such as Hickory Run, Lehigh Gorge , and Rickett's Glen.
The Lehigh River carves through the Lehigh Gorge Park in a steep-walled canyon. It is one of the most scenic rivers in America and features whitewater boating. This section of the river is Class II-III. Visitors who like adventure will also love hiking or mountain biking on more than 25 miles of abandoned railroad grade that follows the river. Camping is also available.
The 15,500-acre Hickory Run State Park, Carbon County, lies in the western foothills of the Pocono Mountains. This large park has over 40 miles of hiking trails, three state park natural areas, a camping area, miles of trout streams, a swimming area, and an orienteering course. The Boulder Field, a striking boulder-strewn area, is the largest in the Northern Hemisphere and the second largest in the world, making it a National Natural Landmark.
Ricketts Glen harbors Glens Natural Area, a National Natural Landmark. Take the Falls Trail and explore the Glens which boasts a series of wild, free-flowing waterfalls, each cascading through rock-strewn clefts in this ancient hillside. The 94-foot Ganoga Falls is the highest of 22 named waterfalls. Old growth timber and diverse wildlife add to the scenic area. A swimming and camping area are available. Bring your hiking boots, it is not for the timid.
We skydive weekends year round, weather permitting. So you can plan a ski and skydive weekend. Eagle Rock, Big Boulder, Jack Frost, Camelback, and Montage Ski Slopes are all less than an hour drive from our facility. They offer skiing, tubing, and snowboarding for all ages and some of them have condos and townhouses for rent. In the summertime, Camelbeach and Montage are also water parks.

Romantic Skydiving Weekend
For families with children under skydiving age (18), you can combine your skydiving into a family fun trip. While you take your hour long class, they can go play at the lake and community park that is less than two driving miles from the airport. The skydiving center has a spectator area, so your family can then safely watch you skydive and greet you as you return exuberant from your adventure.
After that consider some of these family activities:Eckley Miner's Village is the original mining town that was used as the set for the movie "The Molly McGuires".
Knoebel's Grove voted the best family fun amusement park with free admission, free parking and on site camping, it truly is a family value.
Go camping, orienteering, hiking, swimming, or mountain biking at Hickory Run State Park or Lehigh Gorge State Park.
Possibly plan a vacation week at Daniel's Resort a Family Resort in the Poconos partway between New York City and the Above the Poconos Skydivers.
Go golfing at the beautiful Sugarloaf Golf Club

Nothing brings a couple together more than sharing the experience of a lifetime. We have had people propose during their skydiving experience. We have even had a wedding in the skies over Hazleton. Don and Darlene Kellner, the world's most experienced couple, got married in freefall.
